On behalf of the governing body I welcome you to the school's website, which I hope you will find interesting.
The governor's share the school's determination to offer it's pupils an environment which is keen to promote educational excellence against a pleasant and secure background.
We like to think that the governors add strength and support to the school's Head and teaching staff, yet at the same time, through regular meetings, we are anxious to ensure that the school's high standards are maintained. To this end staff and pupil performances are regularly monitored and reviewed and every effort is made to ensure that the school's policies are enforced in a sensitive and caring way.
Of course, visiting a website isn't quite like the real thing and I hope that by visiting this site you may be encouraged to make a personal visit to our school, where I know you will be made to feel most welcome. On a personal level I should be delighted to meet any visitor by prior arrangement through the school to discuss any issues you may feel merits my attention.
Chair of Governing Body
Hello and welcome to our school website. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Escrick Church of England Primary School. I hope you find the information in this site interesting and helpful for you and your child. All of the staff and governors work extremely hard and are fully committed to the education of your child.
We realise that each child is a special individual. We want children to be successful, to enjoy their time in school and feel safe and secure. We are concerned about all aspects of your child's development and shall do our utmost to help each child progress towards their individual potential.
We like the positive benefits that a small school brings particularly the family atmosphere, the responsibility that the older children have for the younger ones and the shared working that is possible in mixed classes.
Our open door policy is based upon welcoming parents and promoting a partnership with parents, carers and the local community. It means that parents can pop into school at an appropriate time and speak to the class teacher or to myself about any concerns they may have or simply to find out some information. During your child’s time here we hope you will come to regard the school as your school and that your family’s involvement with the school will be positive.
Chelo Brooks
Head teacher
Welcome to our school! Year 5/6 think we're the best school in the world! At Escrick all the staff and the children are very kind and helpful. The Head teacher, Mrs Brooks, is the greatest and all the pupils look up to her. Our teachers are fantastic and expect us to do our best in all our lessons, which include: ICT, Maths, English, Art, PE, DT and much, much more. After school clubs are awesome too! They include: football, tri-golf, skiing, rugby, chess, netball and dance.
Outside lessons there are many things to do, like playing on the mini adventure area, the large fields or playgrounds with our fantastic 'huff and puff' playtime equipment. During these times we have something called 'Play Buddies' and Bench Buddies'. These pupils from Year 5/6 help children who are feeling upset and lonely.
Thank you for reading all about us and we hope you like Escrick as much as we do!
